Twelve Tribes of Israel, Genesis 31-32. This painting uses an Icon (universal symbol) with Jacob, the Seal of Israel, and the Star of David in the center. The top corners show Rachel and Leah (Jacob’s two wives), and the bottom corners depict Bilhah and Zilpah (the two concubines). The twelve sons are wearing wristbands which match the stoles/ shaws of their mothers.
